CORE-MIS
openIMIS is a versatile open source software which supports the administration of health financing and social protection schemes. It is specially designed to manage the complex, high-volume data flows which are required to operate such schemes by seamlessly integrating beneficiary, provider and payer data in a single platform.

openIMIS operates within the framework of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, specifically referencing Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 1.3, which calls for social protection systems for all, and SDG 3.8, which endorses universal health coverage. The project has supported various governments and health financing scheme operators better manage their operations, and increase coverage of health care to their beneficiaries, which include both formally and informally employed people (SDG 8). openIMIS utilizes the latest technologies and innovative methods such as AI and machine learning to enable it to perform sector agnostic functions as Digital Public Infrastructure (SDG 9). The openIMIS initiative is built around partnerships with various governments and bi/multi lateral organizations to achieve sustainable digitalization in implementation (SDG 17).

The data for the user profile is transmitted through authenticated, secure APIs and therefore protected in transit. For storage, we recommend our users on how they can deploy the database for security (including network level security, encryption etc). We furthermore conduct penetration tests on the solution to ensure all vulnerabilities, including those in data management, are minimized.
