2024 State of the DPG Ecosystem Report is now live!

2024 was a year filled with numerous highlights for the digital public goods Ecosystem, underscoring the vital and positive impact that DPGs can facilitate across all of the Sustainable Development Goals. From healthcare to education, from strengthening government service delivery to advancing climate action, DPGs continue to shape digital transformation efforts worldwide. Additionally, with their prominent placement in the Global Digital Compact adopted by UN Member States in September 2024, the role of DPGs is set to deepen in the coming years.

This is why the DPGA Secretariat is proud to publish the “2024 State of the DPG Ecosystem” report. This report highlights the major milestones and activities undertaken by over 40 members in 2024 to advance the discovery, development, use, and investment in digital public goods.

While there is much to celebrate, there remains work to be done and opportunities to seize. This year’s report also marks the formal launch of the DPGA’s first-ever Calls for Collaborative Action, highlighting four specific areas—open data for public interest AI, digital public infrastructure, climate action, and open-source policies, principles and frameworks—where coordinated action can make a lasting difference. By collaborating in these areas, stakeholders can accelerate long-term, sustainable outcomes through the use of digital public goods. We look forward to contributions from DPGA members, product owners, and other stakeholders who believe in the potential of leveraging DPGs to advance digital transformation and tackle urgent global challenges.
