Moldova joins the DPGA

Today, the Digital Public Goods Alliance welcomes the Government of Moldova via the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization (MDED) as our newest member. As a part of their membership, MDED is:

  1. Defining a national vision for digital public services, data management, and the overarching digital transformation process;
  2. Digitizing public services, a commitment that resonates with SDG17 – partnerships for the goals; and
  3. Piloting DPGs, specifically exploring the deployment of digital public goods for digital IDs and instant payments.

The Government of Moldova/MDED is also partnering with other DPGA members, including UNDP Moldova to harness data for governance and policy and to create a Data for Governance Framework. This is supported by DPGA Board member – the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
