Government Spotlight: Policymaking and Strategy for Building Open Source Ecosystems

OSPOS for Good Side Event Hosted by Digital Public Goods Alliance, Eclipse Foundation and OpenForum Europe with support from the UN’s Office of ICT.

Taking place the day before the OSPOs for Good Conference 2024 starts, this side event will provide a space for mid-level to senior policymakers in governments, particularly those working in relevant technical or digital policymaking functions, to learn about open source policymaking and strategy. The event will enable participating delegations to hear from other governments working in this area and exchange lessons learned and best practices through facilitated expert-led discussion.

  • 3:00-3:10pm: Exploring policies that can support Global South OSS developers (Enzo Ribagnac, Associate Director, European Policy, Eclipse Foundation)
  • 3:10-3:40pm: Coffee break and brainstorming
  • 3:40-5:00pm: Interactive discussion with expert panel moderated by Nicholas Gates, OpenForum Europe
